Pre-Rolls and Infused Pre-Rolls in Maine

The only question that matters: what's in it
A lot of pre-rolls are filled with shake and trim — the fragments that break off during handling and the leaf cut away from the bud. That's not fraud, it's just the cheap end of the category, and it smokes like it: harsh, fast, and green.
Ours are filled with the same flower we sell in jars. That is the entire difference, and it's the one thing worth asking about any pre-roll anywhere: is this the flower, or what was left over from it? A shop that can't answer that has told you the answer.
Infused pre-rolls, and what they're infused with
An infused pre-roll has concentrate added — coated on the outside, mixed through the flower, or run down the middle as a core. What it's infused with is the whole story, and it's rarely on the label.
Distillate is the cheap way. Near-pure THC with no flavour of its own. It makes the joint stronger and does nothing else.
Hash rosin or live resin brings the terpenes with it, so it adds flavour as well as strength. Costs more, and it's a different experience rather than just a bigger one.
Ask which one. Most places won't volunteer it.
Why some of them burn badly
Three usual culprits. Packed too tight and it won't draw and keeps going out. Packed too loose and it runs down one side — canoeing. Rolled when the flower was still too damp and it'll do both.
A good pre-roll draws like a cigarette and burns in an even ring. If it doesn't, that's a rolling problem, not you.
Sizes
Half-gram, one gram, and larger for infused. If you're smoking alone, a pack of half-grams usually beats one big joint — a joint half-smoked and relit an hour later is a worse joint, and everyone knows it.
