Concentrates, Dabs and Extracts in Maine
Dabs, wax, shatter, rosin, resin, hash, BHO. It's the most confusing corner of any menu, and most of the confusion comes from people using process words and product words as if they were the same thing.

There are only two families
Everything here is one of two things: made with a solvent, or made without one.
Solventless usually means ice water, screens, heat and pressure. Nothing goes in that wasn't already in the plant. That's hash, kief and rosin.
Solvent means a gas — usually butane — strips the resin off the plant and is then purged back out. That's cured resin and live resin. You'll see butane extraction called BHO; that's the solvent's name, not a product's.
Neither family is better. Solventless is cleaner by definition and costs a lot more to make. Solvent extraction pulls far more from the same material, which is why it's most of what's on any menu at a price people actually pay.
Fresh or dried — the other axis
This one cuts across both families, and once you have it, every name on the menu decodes itself.
Live means the plant was frozen the moment it came down. The terpenes never got a chance to evaporate, so it tastes closer to the plant in the ground.
Cured means dried and cured first, the same as flower you'd smoke. Deeper and rounder, and considerably cheaper to produce.
So live rosin is solventless plus frozen. Cured resin is solvent plus dried. Two words, whole answer.
What people actually call them
"Dabs" covers everything on this page. It describes how you use it, not what it is. If you dab it, it's a dab.
"Wax", "shatter", "badder", "sugar", "sauce" describe texture and nothing else. Same extraction, whipped or purged or stored differently. None of them tells you anything about strength or quality — pick whichever handles the way you like.
"Hash" means trichomes separated mechanically. "Rosin" means hash that's been pressed.
So what should I get
New to it: cured resin. Strong, good flavour, and the best value per gram in the case.
Flavour is the point: live rosin. The most expensive thing here, and it tastes like the plant smelled.
Flavour without the price: live resin. Frozen material, solvent extraction — most of the aromatics for a fraction of the money.
No rig, no torch: hash or kief. Goes straight in a bowl or a joint. Nothing else here works that way.
Where ours come from
Our hash and rosin start with our own material — our plants, our soil. The solvent extracts come from two Maine labs we work with regularly: Oasis Refinery in Gardiner and SeaWeed Co. in South Portland.
That matters more here than with anything else on the menu, because a bad purge or dirty starting material is invisible in the jar. Knowing who made it is most of the quality control there is — so we'll tell you every time, without being asked.
